Kanoh considered an S tier considered Retsudo a suitable successor and Retsudo admitted to being a weaker hand to hand fighter.

Misasa demolished Yumigahama, it wasn't even close, if such a huge gap was between them then Misasa would have scrapped a victory, not slaughtered him, the fact that Yumigahama acknowledged Misasa and Kanoh wanted to fight him way before he actually came out further supports the fact Misasa was confident he could take Yumi in a straight fight so the handicap Yumi was dumb enough to not notice likely wouldn't have mattered in the end.

What do you base that on? There's been 0 evidence to suggest he isn't S tier and quite a bit suggesting he is.

Just because he's weaker unarmed doesn't mean he isn't S tier, for example everyone was weaker than Kuroki in the annihilation tournament but he wasn't the only S tier fighter there.
